Letter From Zoë

I must have been about seven years of age watching Franck in Father of the Bride. I remember the words, ‘Come with me please and we’ll talk all about your big day!' I was hooked, then and there I knew I wanted to live and breathe the world he was in and become a wedding planner.

And so began my interest and life long ambition to bring as much joy to others, through my love of design and events.

The crux of running the perfect event starts with being methodically organised. Everything has always matched and colour coordinated in my world to ensure maximum efficiency; and my diary is planned out each day down to the hour (if truth be told, some days, down to the half hour!)

On leaving Trinity College, with the decline in the Irish economy, which of course affected the events industry, I took the initiative to study PR at Fitzwilliam in 2008, an invaluable skill needed for event promotion. I moved over to London to Battersea Power Station to work as the PR Executive for a fixed-term six-month contract.

Six months turned into eight years, with three changes in site ownership and I had well and truly moved on from the PR world. Day to day I was designing, managing and executing not only the Events Strategy but the Commercialisation Strategy for the entire Battersea site. Essentially, I had turned what was a Brownfield underutilized site awaiting planning and development into an international events destination. During my seven and a half years of events, I organised events for every occasion: from small scale 2 person dinner, political events, high end engagements and weddings, product launches, gala dinners, all the way up to 38,000 people festivals. 

Taking all of my experience I took the initiative to establish MBZ International; an events company where we pride ourselves on thoroughly understanding our clients’ expectations, meticulously planning down to the tiniest detail and executing to the highest standard of excellence to ensure a memorable, one of a kind experience every time. I also enlisted the services of Fitzwilliam one more time and got my Diploma in Wedding Planning.

Why call it MBZ International? Because every event is ‘Made By Zoë’ of course! Be it a proposal, an intimate engagement party, or large-scale product launch, we work as a team to always add that personal touch.
